Realme GT Neo 3: In a sea of mid-range phones, the Realme GT Neo 3 positions itself as the performance phone that not only walks the walk, but runs away with impressive features like 150W fast charging, a Dimensity 8100 chip inside there and a striking motorsport-inspired design.
But past the shiny numbers and specs sheet, how well does it work in everyday use? Let’s break it down.
Design: Racing Style to Enjoy
Realme didn’t play it safe with the GT Neo 3’s looks. In a nod to the race tracks and speed, the phone has dual racing strips running across the back cover, more so on the Nitro Blue and Sprint White versions.
It’s instantly eye-catching and it certainly gives the phone an identity in an ocean of the same old generic glass slabs out there.
It is a solidly built phone with a nice hand feel, as a result of a matte AG glass back that doesn’t attract fingerprints.
At only 188g, it’s light enough to use for long periods, although it still feels premium. The frame, though, is plastic — which isn’t a deal breaker but worth mentioning.
Display: Fluid and Vivid
The 6.7-inch AMOLED screen is gorgeous. It has a Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support.
Whether you’re checking your social media, playing games or watching a video, you’ll get the quality visuals you want with smooth images and crisp text with vibrant colors and rich deep blacks.
The bezels are thin and the punch-hole camera isn’t particularly distracting. Whether it’s a book, a website, or an episode of Netflix, the display makes it so much better.
Performance: All Muscle, No Stutter3
Under the hood, GT Neo 3 has MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor manufactured on 5nm process.
This combo, combined with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and UFS 3.1 storage is capable to perform like most flagships, at a mid-range price point.
Apps open fast, multitasking is well managed, and performance in even heavy apps such as BGMI or Asphalt 9, at high settings, doesn’t exhibit any lag or heating.
It’s obvious that Realme has put in some solid optimization work here. You also get virtual RAM expansion which kind of gives the phone a little bit more breathing room.
Software: Realme UI 3.0, Which Remains a Mixed Bag
Software: Fast and efficient experience with Realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12 Although the Realme GT 2 Pro runs Realme UI 3.0, which is staggered on Android 12, it’s operating system experience is right on the mark.
It adds functions like floating windows, custom icon shapes and privacy controls.
That being said, there is a lot of bloatware installed. Most of it can be uninstalled, but a less cluttered UI would have been appreciated.
Realme has promised regular updates, but it’s still not as clear long-term software support as some rivals.
Cameras: Not Flagship Caliber, But Versatile
The primary camera carries a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with the OIS, while there is an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro camera aiding it.
During the day, photos are sharp, with nice color and dynamic range. The primary sensor does well with low-light shots, especially when night mode is on.
The ultra-wide lens is, on the other hand, a notch down in quality and the macro camera is almost a placeholder.
For selfies and video calls, it’s serviceable with a 16MP front camera.
If you are an enthusiastic mobile photographer, it’s good — but not great.
Battery and Charging: Insane Fast
This is where the GT Neo 3 does serious flexing. You get two options:
150W fast charging with a 4500mAh battery, or,
5000mAh battery with 80W fast charging
The 150W version does 0% to 100% in approximately 17 minutes. It’s truly game-changing — ideal for those who are constantly on the go.
The battery life is respectable; you should be able to get through a full day with moderate use.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
High octane processors with Dimensity 8100
Stunning 120Hz AMOLED display
Blazing-fast 150W charging
Clean and sporty design
Capable main camera with OIS
Cons:
Plastic frame, no IP rating
Bloatware in Realme UI
Not great ultra-wide and macro cameras
Reliability of update track record is unknown

It offers high-end features where it matters most, and if you’re looking for a value-for-money handset at this price point, it’s one of the stacked phones on the market right now.
